Earth Path Defense

Protection for Earth & Humanity as Human Horizons Rise

Space - The Final Frontier
           First, we secured our homeworld.
                                         Then, all of space was open to us.

Update - Preparedness Report

British support for US Anti-Ballistic Missile Defense is starting to revolve around Prime Minister Blair’s interest in EPDF Massive High-Speed Object Intercept Technologies (MassHSOIT) to meet the ongoing 70,000-mph asteroid threat from space. The acronym honors the Native American Chief that saved the British Pilgrims in 1620 from the elements & starvation. Today, Allied resources can meet a similar threat from Noah-style rains and millennial nuclear winter.
While Americans budget against rogue nations’ few slow 10,000-mph ICBMs on-planet,
Mother Nature is firing ~1,202,600 rogue rocks across Earth’s Path each year.
July 01’s meteors remind us New and Old England can be lost in an Atlantic-hit.
 As Allies practice intercepting incoming rocks as fast defense-in-depth;
then short-range anti-missile defense technology will be achieved as a by-product.
 Real objections to nuclear explosives in space are they could be too close with no failsafe time, & hijacked by enemy technology for rerouting in minutes.
 As Missile Defense can be perceived as or becomes first-strike Offense capable; a space arms race can begin, distracting us from far more deadly incoming asteroids at a time when we are entirely vulnerable. Guided asteroids as missiles is unstudied.
 Politically noble, “rocks as enemies” promotes world trade unity and eco-logic.
 Unmanned non-nuclear & nuclear front lines against asteroids must be positioned 3 weeks minimum to 6 months distant from Spaceship Earth’s 12,000-mph rate of speed to be effective. Asteroid-deflection technology poses no strategic concern when logically far away; 50-million miles = 29 days. Warning with rapid response is possible.
 Overlooked Strategic Threats Analysis Addendum for the Quadrennial Defense Strategy.  This four-year review is used by the Pentagon to assess all potential threats.  Nothing has been done nor included in any way since the 2002 addendum proposed by  Brock d’Avignon to Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld.  In 2008 d'Avignon and a group of students proposed to President Obama's transition team a Planetary Asteroid Defense Office, and an upgrade a screen in the White House Situation Room to include "Space Weather."  The was ignored until 2012 when the second transition team wanted to see what they had missed the previous time.  President Obama ordered NASA Administration Goldin to create the Planetary Defense Office
(PDO).  Goldin declined to do so saying NASA's budget was always entirely spent 5 years in advance.   President Obama retorted he would get a new NASA Administrator if the order was not followed.   Goldin complied.  Two projects were launched for $270-million to large asteroids Ceres and Vesta to learn nothing not already known through existing resources.  The White House still lacks a single point for coordination in asteroid or comet emergencies.

Government still lacks any capacity to respond to an asteroid or comet threat. (July 14, 2017)
